Inspired by TorrentFreak's Top 10 Most Pirated Movies of the Week, welcome to the first Top 10 Most Pirated, where we take a look at the world of Torrent piracy and see where the most revenue is being lost! The piracy world is constantly changing. With new releases coming out every day, it can be hard to keep up date with it all. This segment will help you keep your finger on the pulse of the torrent underworld. Below is a table showing the top 10 most popular application torrents of this past week:

When looking at this chart it’s important to understand that the longer a torrent has been on the scene the larger its swarm size will be. This is clear for the DriverPack release; it has a swarm over 5 times as large as the next torrent on the list, but it has also been around for a full 6 days already. This torrent, like the SamDrivers torrent, is a very large torrent and contains many system driver files.

Also on the list is a torrent that comes in at a mere 1 MB. This is a text file containing many license keys for numerous security suites, including Kaspersky, Avast, and Avira. This is a common type of torrent and is seen on a regular basis in the Top 10 current torrents. Because these companies permit the full version of their software to be downloaded straight from their website it is common to see only license keys without the software they relate to.

Check in again soon for more information on the state of the piracy underworld!
